Luxembourg: Inflation slows in July from June
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices rose 3.4% in annual terms in July, following a 3.7% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were milder price pressures for transportation (+7.9% in annual terms vs +9.9% in June), housing and utilities (+2.2% vs +2.6% in June) and recreation (+2.0% vs +3.0% in June). Finally, the changes in food and non-alcoholic beverages and restaurants and hotels were the same as in the prior month (+1.3% and +3.8%, respectively).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 2.2% on a year-on-year basis in July, unchanged from the prior month’s reading.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices were down 0.64% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.47% decline in the prior month.
