Lithuania: Inflation ticks down in May

Consumer prices rose 0.2% from the previous month in May, decelerating from April’s 0.8% increase. A breakdown of the sub-components provided by Statistics Lithuania showed that 6 of the total 12 saw a rise in prices, led by clothing and footwear, and transport, which more than offset lower prices for miscellaneous goods and services, as well as for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.

Meanwhile, inflation ticked down to 2.7% in May, from 2.8% in April. In a similar fashion, harmonized inflation moderated from 2.7% in April to 2.5% in May. Lastly, annual average inflation remained stable at 2.4%, where it has been since February.
