Lithuania: GDP growth ebbs in Q4
GDP rose 4.4% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to preliminary data. The result followed the 4.8% increase logged in Q3. Meanwhile, in seasonally-adjusted quarter-on-quarter terms, GDP gained some momentum in Q4, rising 0.5% following the flat reading logged in Q3.
The fourth quarter’s year-on-year slowdown was mainly driven by a weak performance in the agricultural sector. That said, activity in the industrial and retail sectors remained robust.
More detailed national accounts data for Q4 will be released on 1 March.
