Latvia: Inflation comes in at highest level since October 2008 in April
Consumer prices rose 2.20% in April over the previous month, slowing down from March’s 3.37% rise. The reading was driven by moderating price pressures for transportation and housing and utilities.
Inflation increased to 13.0% in April, following March’s 11.5%. April’s figure marked the highest inflation rate since October 2008. Annual average inflation rose to 6.6% in April (March: 5.6%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 13.1% in April, from the previous month’s 11.5%.
