Latvia: Harmonized inflation declines to lowest level since March 2021 in February
Harmonized inflation came in at 0.6% in February, which was down from January’s 1.1%. February’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since March 2021. The result was driven by moderating price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages and easing price pressures for housing and utilities.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 5.9% in February (January: 7.5%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 0.4% in February, from the previous month’s 1.0%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.08% in February over the previous month, coming in below January’s 0.78% rise.
