Korea: Month-ahead business sentiment among manufacturing firms stable in September
Month-ahead business sentiment among manufacturing firms was unchanged at August’s 69.0 in September. As a result, the index remained below the 100-threshold, indicating pessimism among businesses.
Month-ahead business sentiment fell among domestically-orientated manufacturers but remained stable among export-orientated ones. Domestically-orientated manufacturers continue to suffer from recent rate hikes, while export-orientated ones have been hit hard by the recent slowdown in the global economy, particularly in China.
