Korea: Manufacturing firms’ month-ahead sentiment falls in July
Month-ahead business sentiment among manufacturing firms fell to 72.0 in July from June’s 73.0. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 100-threshold, signaling that businesses were more pessimistic.
For the first time in three months, month-ahead business sentiment fell among export-orientated manufacturing firms, potentially as a result of recent data showing a disappointing recovery in China. Meanwhile, month-ahead business sentiment was stable among domestically-orientated firms.
