Kenya: Inflation ticks down in September

Consumer prices were flat in seasonally-adjusted month-on-month terms in September, following August’s 0.2% increase. September’s reading reflected higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as for household equipment, which were offset by lower prices for health, and information and communication services.

Inflation ticked down to 4.2% in September, from July and August’s 4.4%, which marked the lowest inflation rate since September 2019. Annual average inflation edged up to 5.3% in September from 5.2% in August.
