Kenya: Inflation picks up in March
Consumer prices rose 0.85% month on month in March on a seasonally-adjusted basis, markedly up from February’s 0.41 increase. Looking at the details of the release, the acceleration was due to prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increasing at a brisker pace, while transport prices also grew at a faster rate.
Inflation came in at 5.6% in March, up from February’s 5.1%. Still, annual average inflation was stable at February’s 6.0% in March.
