Kenya: Inflation slows in April
Consumer prices rose 0.86% over the previous month in April, up from March’s 0.19% rise. April’s reading largely reflected an increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as for transport.
Meanwhile, inflation came in at 5.6% in April, down from March’s 6.5%. Thus, inflation moved closer to the 5.0% midpoint of the Central Bank’s 2.5%–7.5% target range. Lastly, annual average inflation edged down to 5.6% from March’s 5.7%.
