Kazakhstan: Inflation drops to over two-year low in January
Consumer prices climbed 0.6% over the previous month in January, a marginally smaller increase than the 0.7% month-on-month rise in December. Both food and non-food products rose at a slower pace compared to the previous month, offsetting a bigger upturn in prices for paid services.
Inflation dropped to 6.8% in January (December: 7.1%), which marked the lowest reading since September 2015. Annual average inflation inched down to a two-year low of 7.3% in January from 7.4% in December.
