Kazakhstan: Inflation falls to over one-year low in January
Inflation fell to 9.5% in January, easing slightly from December’s 9.7%. January’s result represented the weakest inflation rate since February 2022. According to the preliminary release, the moderation was driven by softer price pressures for both food and non-food products, which outweighed accelerating prices in services.
Annual average inflation fell to 13.6% in January (December: 14.5%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.78% in January over the previous month, picking up from December’s 0.77% rise.
