Kazakhstan: Industrial production decelerates in May
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 4.7% on a year-on-year basis in May, following 9.6% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in May worsened for manufacturing (+5.2% in annual terms vs +14.1% in April), mining and quarrying (+3.0% vs +5.0% in April) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (+2.9% vs +8.4% in April). In contrast, the reading for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply improved in May (+16.0% vs +9.1% in April).
