Japan: Inflation drops to year low in September
Inflation came in at 3.0% in September, which was down from August’s 3.2%. September’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since September 2022.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at August’s 3.5% in September. Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 2.7% in September, from August’s 3.0%, slightly above market expectations.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.27% over the previous month in September, accelerating from August’s 0.25% rise.
