Japan: Industrial production steadies in May
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 0.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in May, stable from the prior month’s reading.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, figures in May improved for manufacturing (+0.7% on a month-on-month basis vs +0.4% in April) and mining (-1.2% vs -2.0% in April).
In annual terms, industrial production fell 1.7% in May, following a 2.0% rise in the prior month.
