Japan: Consumer confidence eases in November
Consumer confidence fell to 28.6 in November from October’s 29.9. November’s result marked the worst reading since June 2020. As a result, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold, indicating pessimism among consumers.
The headline print reflected declines in all subcomponents of the consumer confidence index. Consumers became more pessimistic about the next 12 months concerning their overall livelihoods, income growth, employment and willingness to buy durable goods.
