Ireland: Economic sentiment rises in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 97.5 in July, following June’s 96.6. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In July, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (+9.7 vs +6.7 in June), the services sector (+18.9 vs +15.7 in June) and among consumers (-18.0 vs -24.4 in June). In contrast, sentiment worsened in the construction sector (+11.6 vs +27.2 in June) and the retail sector (+8.3 vs +15.7 in June).
