Ireland: Consumer sentiment increases in October
Consumer sentiment came in at 46.1 in October, up from September’s 42.1.
The small uptick was driven by improvements in every subcomponent of the consumer sentiment index. Consumers became especially more optimistic about the 12-month ahead outlook for personal finances. This brighter outlook was, in turn, likely driven by the announcement in late September of measures to help households with the rising cost of living as part of the 2023 government budget.
