Indonesia: Inflation declines to lowest level since May 2022 in May
Inflation came in at 4.0% in May, which was down from April’s 4.3%. May’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since May 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food rose at a softer pace in May, as did prices for housing, transport and furnishing.
Annual average inflation was stable at April’s 5.0% in May. Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 2.7% in May, from the previous month’s 2.8%.
Finally, consumer prices were unchanged from the previous month in May, after April’s 0.33% increase.
