Hong Kong: Inflation rises in February
Inflation came in at 2.1% in February, which was up from January’s 1.7%. The rise was driven by higher price pressures for transport and food, potentially linked to higher demand for both goods due to the Lunar New Year festivities.
Annual average inflation edged up to 2.1% in February (January: 2.0%).
Finally, consumer prices rose a seasonally adjusted 0.47% in February over the previous month, swinging from January’s 0.09% drop. February’s result marked the highest reading since October 2023.
