Guatemala: Inflation hits near nine-year high in November
Consumer prices decreased a fractional 0.01% in December over the prior month, swinging from the 0.55% increase recorded in November. The marginal decrease in December reflected a marked uptick in transport prices being offset by a drop in food prices.
Inflation, meanwhile, edged down to 4.8% in December from 5.5% in November. Lastly, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation rising to 3.2% in December from 3.1% in November.
