Germany: Harmonized inflation rises in February
Harmonized consumer prices increased 0.89% month-on-month in February, inching down from January’s 0.90% increase. The reading was driven by softer price increases for food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels offsetting stronger price increases for transport.
Meanwhile, harmonized inflation rose to 5.5% in February from 5.2% in January, while annual average harmonized inflation rose to 3.8% in the same month from 3.5% in January.
