France: Harmonized inflation falls to three-and-a-half-year low in April
In April, consumer prices rose 0.1%, matching March’s result, according to a preliminary release by the Statistical Institute (INSEE). Higher prices for food and services largely outweighed lower fuel prices.
Similarly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.1%, matching March’s result, while harmonized inflation came in at 0.5% (March: 0.8%), the lowest print since October 2016. Meanwhile, annual average harmonized inflation edged down to 1.2% from 1.3% in the month prior.
