France: Industrial activity falls at sharpest pace since April in November
Industrial output slid 0.9% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in November, which contrasted October’s 1.9% increase. The outturn marked the worst reading since April. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing output growth softened in November, while energy production contracted.
On an annual basis, industrial production fell at a more pronounced rate of 4.6% in November (October: -3.9% yoy). Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 10.3%, down from October’s minus 9.8% reading.
