France: Industrial activity drops again in September
Industrial output dropped 0.5% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in September (August: -0.1% mom). September’s reading was largely due to a bigger contraction in manufacturing production. In addition, mining and quarrying production fell.
On an annual basis, industrial output dropped 0.1% in September, a smaller contraction than August’s 0.3% fall. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 0.3% in September (August: +0.4%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
