France: Industrial production slows in April
Latest reading: Industrial production—excluding construction—increased 0.1% on a working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in April, following 1.4% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in April softened for manufacturing (+0.4% on a working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +1.3% in March) and energy (-1.1% vs +1.8% in March). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in April (+2.2% vs +1.8% in March).
On a working-day and seasonally adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production was up 2.8% in April, following a 1.3% rise in the previous month.
