Finland: Inflation slides in December
Consumer prices fell 0.07% from the previous month in December, swinging from the 0.45% rise logged in November. December’s result marked the weakest reading since April 2020. The decline was largely due to reduced price pressures recorded for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, for transportation, and food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation moderated to 3.5% in December, which was down from November’s 3.7%. Annual average inflation rose to 2.2% in December (November: 1.9%). Lastly, harmonized inflation fell to 3.2% in December, from November’s 3.5%.
