Finland: Inflation climbs to over ten-year high in November
Consumer prices increased 0.45% in November over the previous month, which was below October’s 0.75% increase. Looking at the details of the release, prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels flatlined in November compared to October’s sharp increase. Moreover, prices for transportation rose at a slower pace.
Inflation increased to 3.7% in November, above October’s 3.2%. November’s reading was the highest inflation rate since September 2011. Consequently, annual average inflation rose to 1.9% in November (October: 1.6%). Finally, harmonized inflation rose to 3.5% in November, from October’s 2.8%.
