Ecuador: Economic activity speeds up in June
Latest reading: Economic activity was up 2.5% in annual terms in June, following 1.5% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, the reading for agriculture improved in June (-1.5% on a year-on-year basis vs -4.0% in May). In contrast, readings softened for manufacturing (+4.2% vs +4.7% in May), mining and quarrying (-3.4% vs -1.8% in May) and services (+2.6% vs +3.4% in May).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, economic activity declined 1.3% in June, following a 0.1% fall in the previous month.
