Dominican Republic: Economic activity tallies slowest expansion since January 2020 in June
Economic activity increased 0.1% compared to the same month a year earlier in June, which was markedly below the prior month’s 2.4% increase. June’s result was the weakest since January 2020.
Consequently, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 2.7% in June, down from May’s 3.1%.
Lastly, on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, activity plunged 1.4%, swinging from the previous month’s 1.7% growth. June’s result marked the steepest decline since January amid a sharp setback in underlying momentum.
