Denmark: Inflation comes in at fresh record high in April
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 1.64% in April over the previous month, picking up from the 0.64% rise seen in March. Looking at the details of the release, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices grew in April compared to the flat reading in the previous month, while price pressures for housing and utilities accelerated.
Inflation came in at 6.7% in April, up from March’s 5.4%. April’s figure was the highest inflation rate since our current records began for the second month running. Consequently, annual average inflation rose to 3.3% in April (March: 2.9%). Lastly, core inflation rose to 3.6% in April, from March’s 3.2%.
