Denmark: Consumer sentiment improves marginally in August; still second-weakest outturn on record
Consumer sentiment came in at minus 25.1 in August, marginally up from July’s record low of minus 25.6. Despite the mild uptick, August reading marked the second-weakest sentiment on record, and the index remained entrenched well below the 0-point threshold, signaling stark pessimism among Danish consumers.
The slight upturn reflected less pessimism in consumers’ assessment of both their financial situation and the country’s general economic situation in the coming 12-month period.
