Czech Republic: Inflation at over two-year low in February
Consumer prices rose 0.18% from the previous month in February, following January’s 1.34% jump, which had marked the strongest increase in 12 months. Looking at the details of the release, February’s result mainly reflected higher prices for transport and food.
Meanwhile, inflation decreased to 2.1% in February (January: 2.2%), therefore moving closer to the midpoint of the Central Bank’s 1.0%–3.0% tolerance range and marking the lowest reading since December 2018. Lastly, annual average inflation moderated to 2.9% from January’s 3.0%.
