Cyprus: Harmonized inflation declines to lowest level since April in October
Harmonized inflation eased to 8.6% in October from Septembers 9.0%. October’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since April. The slowdown in price pressures was largely due to smaller increases in prices for housing and utilities and transportation. That said, food inflation accelerated further.
Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 7.6% in October (September: 7.2%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 8.8% in October, from Septembers 8.7%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.54% in October over the previous month, swinging from the 1.03% drop recorded in September.
