Cyprus: Economic sentiment increases in April
Economic sentiment came in at 103.0 in April, up from March’s 100.1. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the industrial sector and healthier sentiment in the construction sector. Additionally, confidence in the services sector improved in April, while sentiment in the retail sector rose in the surveyed month. On the flip side, consumer confidence cooled in April.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in April.
