Croatia: Inflation falls to over one-year low in April

Inflation eased to 8.8% in April from March’s 10.7%. April’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since March 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transportation fell in April while prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a slower pace. Meanwhile, housing and utilities price growth softened.

In addition, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 12.0% in April (March: 12.1%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation fell to 8.9% in April, from March’s 10.5%.

Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.97% over the previous month in April, accelerating from March’s 0.90% increase. April’s uptick marked the highest reading since October 2022.
