Colombia: Inflation falls to over five-year low in June
Consumer prices fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.38% from the previous month in June, a sharper drop then the 0.32% fall recorded in May. Prices fell for 9 of the 12 subcategories of the index against a backdrop of weak demand due to the coronavirus crisis.
Inflation eased to 2.2% in June, down from May’s 2.9% print. June’s reading represented the weakest inflation rate since January 2014. In addition, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 3.6% in June (May: 3.7%). Core inflation fell to 2.3% from the previous month’s 2.6%.
