Colombia: Consumer confidence improves for the fifth month running in September but remains pessimistic
The Fedesarrollo consumer confidence came in at minus 21.6 in September, above August’s minus 25.4 and marking the fifth consecutive improvement. Nevertheless, the index remained below the 0-point threshold and still indicated pessimism among consumers.
September’s improvement was driven by rising optimism among households over their personal financial situation within a year, while consumers were less pessimistic towards buying big-ticket household items. That said, consumer’s appraisal of their current personal financial situation compared to a year ago deteriorated further in September.
