Colombia: Consumer confidence eases in January
The Fedesarrollo consumer confidence index fell to minus 13.5 in January, deteriorating from December’s minus 7.0. January’s result marked the weakest sentiment since June 2021. Consequently, the index moved further below the 0-point threshold, signaling more pessimism among consumers.
January’s fall came on the back of a deterioration in consumers’ expectations regarding their economic situation in the coming year and more pessimistic views with regard to the country’s general economic condition in the coming 12-month period.
