China: Nominal fixed investment grows at quickest pace since December 2019 in January—October
Nominal urban fixed asset investment expanded 1.8% in January—October over the same period in 2019 (January—September: +0.8%). The print marked the best result since December 2019. Looking at the details of the release, October’s pick up was broad-based. Activity in the tertiary and primary sectors gained steam, while secondary sector production contracted at a softer rate. .
On a monthly basis, nominal urban fixed asset investment rose 3.2% in seasonally-adjusted terms in October, which was below September’s 3.4% expansion and marking the worst result since February.
