Chile: Business confidence improves in February
Business confidence came in at 42.1 in February, up from January’s 40.7. As such, the index remained entrenched below the 50-point threshold, indicating pessimism among businesses.
February’s reading was driven by an improvement in sentiment in the construction, industrial and mining sectors. However, confidence in the retail sector dimmed. The mining sector is currently the only sector in optimistic terrain, likely supported by historically high copper prices.
