Bulgaria: Inflation comes in at highest level since December 2008 in November
Consumer prices increased 1.36% in November over the previous month, moderating from the 1.82% rise recorded in October. The softer rise was largely driven by a more moderate increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose at a slower rate.
Inflation came in at 7.3% in November, which was up from October’s 6.0% and marked the highest inflation rate since December 2008. Accordingly, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.7% in November (October: 2.1%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 6.3% in November, from the previous month’s 5.2%.
