Brazil: Business sentiment becomes pessimistic in September
The Getulio Vargas Foundation’s (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) industrial business confidence index fell to 99.5 in September from August’s 100.3. As a result, the index fell below the 100-point threshold, signaling mild pessimism among businesses.
The deterioration came on the back of a moderation in firms’ assessment of the current economic situation. In addition, firms’ sentiment regarding the future economic situation strengthened in September, but remained in pessimistic territory.
