Brazil: Business confidence stable in January
Business sentiment in Brazil stabilized in January, but remained high above the lows of mid-2015. The Getulio Vargas Foundation’s (FGV, Fundaçao Getúlio Vargas) business confidence index was unchanged from December’s 99.4 points. The index remains below the 100-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism among businesses.
According to FGV, firms’ were less pessimistic on the present economic situation, however, were more downbeat on the future situation.
