Belgium: Economic sentiment falls in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 88.8 in July, following June’s 91.0. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In July, sentiment darkened in the industrial sector (-15.9 vs -13.5 in June), the construction sector (-11.9 vs -9.6 in June) and the retail sector (-9.8 vs -4.1 in June). On the flipside, sentiment turned more upbeat in the services sector (+2.3 vs +0.9 in June) and among consumers (-15.9 vs -16.7 in June).
