Belarus: Inflation hits highest figure in over 7 years in May
Consumer prices rose 0.72% from the previous month in May, slowing down from the 1.57% increase logged in April. May’s result marked the lowest reading since November 2021.
Inflation edged up to 17.0% in May, slightly above April’s 16.8%. May’s reading was the highest inflation rate since January 2015. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 11.8% in May (April: 11.1%).
