Belarus: Inflation slides in August
Inflation came in at 17.9% in August, down from July’s 18.1%. The drop was due to a slight deceleration in prices for food, as well as housing and utilities.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 13.8% in August (July: 13.1%). Finally, consumer prices rose 0.05% from the previous month in August, slowing down from the 0.50% increase logged in July. August’s result marked the lowest reading since May 2020.
