Austria: Industrial production rebounds in May
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 0.3% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in May, following a 0.5% fall in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, the reading for intermediate goods improved in May (+0.7% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -0.9% in April). In contrast, readings softened for durable consumer goods (-0.5% vs +2.6% in April), capital goods (-1.8% vs -0.9% in April) and non-durable consumer goods (-1.4% vs -0.7% in April).
In annual terms, industrial production was up 0.7% in May, following a 0.1% rise in the prior month.
