Austria: Consumer sentiment remains pessimistic in March
Consumer sentiment remained in negative territory below the 0 threshold in March. March’s minus 24.0 reading matched February’s reading.
In March, consumers felt less pessimistic concerning their financial situations, the labor market and price developments over the next 12 months. Additionally, while consumers showed less inclination to save in the year ahead, their aversion to making large-ticket purchases was the same as in February. Meanwhile, consumers’ expectations regarding the general economic situation over the next 12 months were more downbeat.
