Austria: Consumer confidence stabilizes in August

Consumer confidence was stable at July’s 0-point neutral level in August.

The reading reflected less downbeat views over the financial situation of households and the general economy over the past 12 months being offset by slightly less upbeat views on the financial situation of households and the general economy in the year ahead.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists foresee private consumption growing 2.9% in 2021, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2022, panelists see private consumption rising 5.8%.
